Empty
Is Shibuya Crossing Ever Empty?
As the busiest intersection on the planet, Shibuya Crossing is almost never empty of people, even if you visit in the dead of night or in the early morning.
Unless there is a unusual event, like the pandemic.
In fact, in order to show an empty Shibuya Crossing, the makers of the movie Alice in Borderland created a set replicating the crossing.
If you do happen to see it TOTALLY empty, that would definitely be a super rare event worth recording!
While Shibuya Crossing is almost never devoid of people, it is certainly less crowded in the late hours of the night and early hours of the morning, when trains generally do not run.
And of course, if you want to experience the full scale of the massive flow of pedestrians at Shibuya Scramble Crossing, visit during rush hours.
